FAHM provided medical supplies to midwives serving the general community at the Hospital in Downtown Port-au-Prince for a free prenatal and women's health clinic, as well as participated in a ceremony and brainstorming day with members of UNFPA, the Ministry of Health, AISFH, Haiti's only midwifery association, and numerous other partners in the field of maternal health, in Port-au-Prince.
FAHM president, Martine Jean-Baptiste helped staff the free clinic sponsored by L'Association Infirmière Sage Femme d'Haiti (AISFH), and participated in a ceremony and brainstorming day with members of UNFPA, the Minister of Health, the midwifery education program and midwives from Port au Prince.
In honor of the International Day of the Midwife, FAHM co-sponsored a Mass and Educational Forum with L’Association Infirmière Sage Femme d’Haiti (AISFH) in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Martine Jean-Baptiste, founder and president of FAHM, was an honored guest on the panel and had the pleasure of presenting a talk about independent Midwifery practice.
